ANNOUNCEMENT

The City of Cedar Key has reiterated the mandatory evacuation for all mobile homes and residences in low lying areas west of U.S.19. High water may mimic the 1993 (Storm of the Century), with an extremely high surge with wave action.

The bridges to Cedar Key may go under water during the night. This flooding may damage bridges or the approaches to the bridges rendering them unstable. Therefore, citizens are urged to activae their evacuation in order to reach your planned destination.

As of 5:00 PM EDT, the storm center was 145 miles southwest of Cedar Key moving at ten miles per hour. An 8 to ten foot storm surge is expected in addition to the normal tide level.

The next advisory from the National Hurricane Center will be issued at 8:00 PM, Monday, June 12.
