LIBRARY TO HOST DISCUSSION OF 12 BALLOT AMENDMENTS

October 5, 2018

The Florida League of Women Voters will visit the Cedar Key Public Library at 5 pm on Monday, October 8, to distribute copies of the League's Voter Guide 2018, a helpful tool in making decisions about the 12 constitutional amendments which are on this year's ballot.

Donna Waller, representing the League's Speakers Bureau, will be present to discuss the pros and cons of the various amendments and explain the League's positions on each of the amendments, plus the methods used by the League to develop its positions.

The Florida League of Women Voters in a non-partisan organization, affiliated with the national League of Women Voters, originated in 1919 as a means of educating and ensuring the right to vote. The League is focused on issues related to education, the environment and voting rights, but it develops positions on other issues, as well.

In years past, these discussions have been helpful to voters in making up their minds on complicated constitutional issues. For more information on the League of the Voters Guide, visit www.lwvfl.org.
