All masked and socially distant, kind words and presents, including an Ann Kamzelski photograph, were heaped upon Molly.
Present were Mac and Nita Cox, Joyce DeHaan, Karen Bruskin, Robin Gillies, Lois Benninghoff, Linda and Dave Morales, and Becky LaFountain.
Appreciation for Molly’s efforts through the years was recalled by the group. Among the many efforts cited were:
• her assistance to everyone needing help accessing Internet support for social services,
• her help to students researching and studying,
• her constant accessibility in anyone’s search for information,
• her participation in planning the Library’s Children’s Area,
• her close and personal relationships with nearly everyone in Cedar Key,
• her ability to transform the Library to the information hub of Cedar Key,
• her Library Lecture Series.

At the gathering, Molly spent some time answering questions about the Library’s history. Wonderful, old names such as Rob Crane, Florida’s Nature Coast Conservancy co-founder, Sam Yearty, then Levy County Commissioner, were infused throughout her remembrances. A recurring theme was that the Friends of the Library have always been financially generous and wholly supportive of the Library.
Molly said that she would write a brief history of the Library and the Friends of the Library for posterity. Cedar Key News will certainly publish.
