FOOD PANTRY
EVICTED
25 AUGUST 2019
After seventeen years of successful operation, the Cedar Key Food Panty has been evicted by the Cedar Key United Methodist Church at 6050 D Street.
The eviction letter was delivered to Cedar Key City Hall on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 and signed by Mark DeHaven,Chair of the Administrative Council of the Cedar Key United Metodist Church. The letter is published below.
The eviction date is 90 days from the letter’s delivery, the day before Thanksgiving and the start of the Christian holiday seasons of Christmas, and the New Year, the time of year when participants traditionally have an increased need for Food Pantry services and a season when everyone reaches out to those less fortunate.
Currently, the Food Pantry opens once a week for an hour and a half, from 2:30 until 4 pm on Thursdays.
The number of people and families served fluctuates and the participants stagger their attendance so that everyone is greeted and served in a timely manner by the Pantry volunteer staff.
The Cedar Key News welcomes all comments and suggestions
to help relocate the Cedar Key Food Pantry.
