By Sarah Campbell

The Cedar Key High School Class of 1965 held its 40th reunion on October 22, 2005. Because of the threat of Hurricane Wilma, only eight of the surviving fifteen members were able to attend the festivities.

The Class of '65 began its day with breakfast at Cook's Café. Then it paid tribute to Cedar Key's veterans at the town memorial. Following this, the Class of '65 toured Cedar Key School and relived high school memories with former teacher, Mrs. Mary Ann Delaino. In the evening, the Class of '65 celebrated at the Seabreeze Restaurant, where it reminisced about the 1965 State Basketball Championship and remembered two deceased classmates, Lonnie Alford and Ronnie Brown.
