Dolphin Program Scheduled

ANNOUNCEMENT

A lecture titled, "The Behavior of Bottlenose Dolphins" will be given at the Cedar Key Public Library Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 4 p.m.

The lecture will be given by Dr. Richard Connor, a faculty member of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and director of the research being done in Cedar Key by graduate student Stefanie Gazda, who currently is doing dolphin studies that will be the basis of her Ph.D. dissertation.

Gazda`s research focuses on the relationship between the types of area where dolphins feed and how they pursue schools of fish. She has identified numerous individual dolphins through photographs of their dorsal fins.

The lecture is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. The event is co-sponsored by Cedar Key News and the Cedar Key Public Library.
