First Art Show of 2009 Is a Winner

Cedar Key Arts Center

On Saturday evening January 3, the Cedar Key Arts Center had its first Art Opening of 2009.

The exhibit features the collected works of Bill Bale, a local resident and lifetime antique dealer, featuring Florida and Western Art. Bill`s collection includes some enchanting oils of Cedar Key from the 19th and early 20th century as well as a number of classic American Indian Portraits.

In addition, the Arts Center featured well known member artist Mike Leiner in the Member Artist Gallery. Mike`s creations demonstate the fascinating way a talented artist can move from a word or idea to a piece of art. His special sense of humor and humanity will entertain you as you view the show. Both exhibits will be run through the month of January.

Mark you calendar for the Cathy Christie Exhibit planned for Febuary. This event will feature the Arts Center founder and benefactor, Cathy Christie, who will be in Cedar Key for the event to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the CKAC. If you have art created by Cathy Christie and are willing to lend it to the Arts Center for the exhibit, please contact Bev Ringenberg 543-0362 or drop it by the Arts Center by Wednesday, February 4 at 5 pm.
