Obituary

Malcolm Wayne Parsons Sr of Cedar Key passed away on July 24, 2010 at Haven Hospice of the TriCounties in Chiefland, Florida. He was 95 years old.

Mr. Parsons moved to this area six years ago from the Miami area where he lived for 69 years. He was a retired 50-year member of the Brick Layers Union, where he did cement finishing. He was an elder at Pinelands Presbyterian Church in the Miami area for many years. He enjoyed music, collecting antiques and playing the stock market. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his daughter, Gail Pearson of Cedar Key; a son and daughter in law, Wayne and Peggy Parsons of New Braunfels, Texas; four grandchildren, David Pearson, Thomas Pearson, Carolyn Basche and John Parsons. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Pearson and recently by a brother, Floyd Parsons.

Funeral Services will be held on July 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services Chapel 1301 N. Young Blvd. Chiefland, Florida 32626. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jamie Brock will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Chiefland Cemetery.
