Dear Editor,

The Cedar Key Lions Club would like to publically thank Mr. Bryan Skarupski and the Cedar Key Market for their whole hearted support of this community`s efforts to raise money to support Ms Jennie Pinto in her time of need.

The Lions were going to sell soft drinks at the July 4th Celebration in the Park and Mr. Bryan approached the Lions with an offer to provide, prepare and smoke a substantial number of huge turkey legs if the Lions would sell them in the Park on the 4th. All of the proceeds would go to the Friends of Jennie Pinto account. The Lions took on this challenge and were able to sell quite of few of the prepared turkey legs. But as many of you know the 4th crowd in the Park was not as large as we had hoped or as hungry, and we didn`t sell all of the turkey legs that were prepared.

Once again the Cedar Key Market swung into action and the unsold turkey legs were cooled and frozen in a timely manner, but it was apparent that they could not be stored for a lengthy period of time. Therefore, the Lions suggested to Mr. Bryan that the frozen turkey legs be donated to the Cedar Key Food Pantry. We are glad to tell all of those who worked on and supported this project, and the "small town with a big heart," that the turkey legs did not go to waste and were used to support others in need in our community.
