Obituary

Anne Katharine Rucker 91, passed away at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation
Center on January 2, 2012. She was born on March 2, 1920 in Peoria, Illinois. She spent most of her life in Illinois where she had a career as a secretary at
Caterpillar, Inc. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, VFW Auxiliary & its Past President`s Club, American Legion, and Caterpillar Retirees Club. She and her husband John spent many winters in Cedar Key visiting with her son Mike Leiner and his family. She made Cedar Key her permanent home after her
husband passed in 1990.

Up until she was admitted to Ayers a few months ago, Anne was still living on
her own in her home in Cedar Key. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church. She enjoyed going to church services on Sunday and joining her girlfriends afterward for breakfast as well as tending the weekly Senior`s Lunch. She was also a member of the Cedar Key Womans`s Club and participated in a monthly Girl`s Night Out with her friends. She had a real heart for animals and loved caring for her cats. She also enjoyed reading, playing solitare and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her son Mike (Cindy) Leiner of Cedar Key, daughter Christine
(Steve) Schultz of Tucson, Arizona and grandchildren Chelsea (Dayven) Johnston of St. Albert, Alberta, Josh Leiner of Seoul, Korea, Robert (Courtney) Smith and Cathy (Christopher) Neal, both of Metamora, Illinois. She also had two great grandchildren Wyatt and Hadley Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Rucker of Peoria, Illinois and
brother Jack Walker of Seattle, Washington.
