Merl Franklin Fenton, Jr. age 73 of Cedar Key passed away on February 17, 2012.

He was born on September 21, 1938 in Pontiac, MI to Merl F. and Mildred Fenton. He moved to cedar key in 1991 after retiring as a manager for General Motors Truck and Coach.

He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing cooking, and most of all taking care of his family. He was a Golden Member of the Eagles Post 1130 in Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Margaret Fenton, daughters Christine Daniel (Kenneth), Rhonda Mullins of Michigan, grandchildren Danette Fenton, Larry Mullins Jr. Deana Esslinger, Leah Burlison and Shawna Fenton and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Randy Fenton.

The family plans on holding a celebration of life for Merl at Barbara & Mac McJordan`s house from 3:00 to 7:00 on Thursday Feb.23, 2012.
