NEW CKPOTTERY 2019

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR OUR POLICE… THE SCREEN TEAM AT BRIDGE NUMBER FOUR

April 5, 2020

 THE SITUATION

Standing in the sun for hours may not be so pleasant. Redirecting folks off the island can’t be pleasant. Explaining the same thing again, and again, and again can’t be pleasant. Such is the life of the Cedar Key Police officer, for at least some hours every day, during this COVID-19 pandemic.

THE APPRECIATION

…And appreciative are the island residents for the officers’ perseverance and diligence at this and their other tasks.

Several thankful Cedar Key residents, most concerned about our Cedar Key Police Department’s health and welfare, acted upon their concern. These two folks thought long and hard about what they might do to make the policepersons’ lives easier, healthier, and/or better during this time.

 THE SOLUTION

These residents thought about baking cookies, cake, and brownies and decided that such fare certainly would not contribute to the police persons’ health nor welfare. Idea after idea came and went.

Finally, they conjured the idea of establishing an account at the Market for the policepersons’ use as they see fit.   Water, Gatorade, apples, granola brass, anything they wish may be charged to this account. The account is not huge; it is simply intended to make officers’ lives a bit easier as they are on duty at the Number Four Bridge.

THE ACCOUNT

The account was established on Saturday, April 4 with Darlene and Brian Skaarupski. The account may be added to by you, if you wish.

We hope that you will consider adding to the account. One wonders what shape the island’s health would be without their diligence.

DONATE EASILY

All you need to do is drop off cash or a check made out to the Market, noting that the donation is to go to the  Cedar Key Police Fund. Police Chief Virgil Sandlin will inform his officers. The fund is in place and awaits your support.
