At Tuesday evening’s, 20 July 2021, Cedar Key City Commission Meeting, commissioners will consider the attached “Option to Purchase Downtown Properties” i.e. the “Cedar Key Project.”
The “Option Agreement” considers purchasing eleven land parcels in heavily trafficked downtown Cedar Key. The parcels include wooded, submerged, mangrove laden, developed and vacant land.

There you will find a list of the properties and a graphic from the Levy tax appraiser’s site showing the properties outlined in yellow.
At the Tuesday Commission Meeting, the rationale for possible purchasing will be discussed.
Perhaps this is a way to ensure future development of Historical Cedar Key will be reflective of our past and will help to preserve the natural attractions of the area.
