CITY WORKSHOP RESULTS...
AS INTERPRED BY
COMMISSIONERS WEBB AND DAVIS
2025 February 26

Not long after Hurricane Helene hit the area on September 26, 2024, the City of Cedar Key Commission met, pondered the state of the island, and decided to hear from five sectors of the community. Each commissioner took one sector from which to seek input about what the post-hurricane needs were of that sector. The self-elected assignments follow.

On January 16 and 30, and February 4, 2025, Cedar Key Commissioners Jeff Webb and Jolie Davis presented workshops to garner public input.

The January workshops sought input about Dock Street and the Marina area’s needs.

The February Workshop posed the question: do residents want “Mixed Use Zoning in residential areas” and what Cedar Key residents considered most “Essential Businesses” and where they could be best located to to weather future Hurricanes.

The results, as amassed by Webb and Davis, follow.
