WILD LORE, HISTORY OF THE SUWANNEE: AN AFTERNOON PADDLE WITH LARS ANDERSON...MARCH 14

February 22, 2020

On Saturday, March 14, 2020, join river guide Lars Anderson for an immersive nature and history paddle excursion, Wild Lore and History of the Lower Suwannee Wildlife Refuge.

This special event is part of the Lower Suwannee Art and Nature Festival, taking place the same day from 10-3 in Glen Dyals Park just outside the waterfront community of Suwannee, where the paddle will launch at 1 pm. Paddlers will have time to enjoy the festival in the morning, including sampling food vendors before they get underway to follow a network of beautiful back creeks and side channels along the Suwannee River. The entire trip lies within the bounds of the 53,000-acre Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge and is part of Anderson’s "Wild Florida Chronicles" series which follow the routes of famous explorations. On this paddle, follow the Chapman/Brewster expedition of 1890, looking for many of the same species that were described in their journals.

For in-depth details on the paddle, go to http://adventureoutpost.net, click Calendar, then navigate to March 14 and select “Lower Suwannee.” To reserve your spot on the paddle at the special festival rate ($39 including kayak rental, or $29 if you bring your own kayak or canoe) email This email address is being protected from spambots.
