COVID-19 TESTING IN LEVY COUNTY...CHIEFLAND
14 MAY 2020
On Thursday, May 14, from 9 am to noon, Levy County Emergency Management and the Florida Department of Health provided Levy County residents COVID-19 testing in Chiefland. Organization was at its height, as was the professionalism of all involved.
TESTS STILL AVAILABLE
One more day, on Monday, May 18, tests will be available in Yankeetown, in south Levy County. Monday will be the last of a four-day testing scheme put in place by the county. Other testing sites included Williston on Friday, May 15, and Bronson on Saturday, May 16.
THE PROCESS
Residents needed only to drive their vehicles through a line; none needed to leave cars. Vehicles halted at three stations. At the first station, cars were met by a health care professional who took names, addresses, and telephone numbers of those wishing to be tested, and asked several questions regarding current health status.

At the first station, cars were met by a health care professional who took names, addresses, and telephone numbers of those wishing to be tested, and asked several questions regarding current health status.
Whisked off to the second station, more health care professionals met the cars, checked names, and prepared Zip-Lock-like packages containing individual information and testing kits.
Again, whisked off to the third station, those wishing to b tested endured nasal swabbings. If two individuals occupied a vehicle, two professionals attended it, making the process as swift as possible.
The process could not have been quicker, easier, or more professionally done. Clear directions to the site, to entry of a line, to the next station, and exit were attended to county officials, making the process as simple as could be.
RESULTS
Test results may take as many as ten days to become available. Residents may check their test results status at the Quest Lab in Chiefland, or residents will be called by telephone with the results.
