HERMAN WELLS, A TRUE CRAFTSMAN

As you walk or drive around Cedar Key, you no doubt have noticed many porches with beautiful Adirondack chairs and swings. This special outdoor furniture was lovingly handcrafted by a local treasure, Herman Wells.
After a period of building fishing boats much in demand by local fisherman, Herman switched to making outdoor furniture from cedar and cypress he mills at his sawmill on 347.
The furniture is made in his building on 5th Street, the same building that housed the church he attended as a child.

For those of you who would like to compliment Herman on his craftsmanship and wish him a Happy Birthday, he’ll celebrate his 80th birthday on Sunday, March 7th.
