NEW CKPOTTERY 2019

So, in any event, I usually find myself thinking about water, times on it, living near it, drinking it, treating it, using it for recreation. While I am lying on the table for the procedure, whatever it may be, my mind keeps coming back to water. Melanie said one day I ought to write about “the therapy of water”. And Anne, knowing my personal and professional work and play around water agreed with Mel wholeheartedly. We live with an open view of Goose Cove and the Gulf of Mexico. I know one thing that has helped me with a longer fuller life is the proximity of water.

Melanie had never been in a single-celled vehicle alone before on the water. She got hold of a kayak we have been storing for a friend and took a lone solo trip, her first, in that kayak. She said I’d probably see her back in about five minutes. Two hours later, she was still on the water. She has been out twice now in the past few days. I can only smile and relate her water therapy to mine. I could write a book on water therapy. Maybe I will. While I am pretty much indigent now, I have owned several boats both mechanically powered and powered by sail and the open air. In Savannah, I crewed on a fifty-four foot wooden boat in which we raced from there to Jacksonville, to Charleston, and back.

I’m full of stories of sailing, motoring, and fishing over the years. We’ll go over a few of those some time in the future. When I found myself distraught throughout my life, I always sought out the water and alone I’d meditate and pray ‘til the peace came back over me. I think I know how John the Baptist must’ve felt in the rivers when he was doing his work.

In my case, I know how thoughts of the water have helped me relax and sustain me through some difficult and painful procedures in the hospital. And how being near water has helped with my present state of health, physical and emotional.
I said I could write a book on water therapy. Sometime soon, we’ll talk more about the water. Meanwhile, tickle your own thoughts and share them the next time our paths cross looking for Trouble in Cedar Key.
