Hi, Everyone! Please note this week's activities around campus. Happy Homecoming Week!
I think the kids jinxed us when they chose "Hollywood" as this year's homecoming theme... Is it too soon to call this week "Hollyweird?" A three-day homecoming week due to cold weather conditions in Levy County is certainly a first. Because of Wednesday's school closure, we have rescheduled the parade to Thursday at the same time.
Today's VB game has been moved up to 4 p.m. The middle school games have been cancelled.
Mrs. Christy Thompson's retirement celebration will be held on Wednesday, 2/5, at 3 p.m. in the auditorium.
Current CKS Fundraisers:
Tickets are now on sale for the Love Bug Ball (a Valentine's Day-themed dance for our elementary students) on Friday, 2/7, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $10 each, and students must be accompanied by their adult(s) for the entirety of the dance. Tickets must be purchased in advance, ideally by Wednesday, 2/5.

While it's not exactly a CKS fundraiser, Chiefland Elementary Safety Patrol is hosting a Color Run on the island on Saturday morning. My understanding is that some of the proceeds will benefit our Safety Patrol students. The link to purchase tickets can be found here: Color Run Tickets.

Dress-up Day: Reality TV (think Kardashians, American Idol, Survivor, etc.)
District Spelling Bee at BMHS. 9 a.m. (Good luck, Audrey and Blaidyn! 🎉)
Girls' District Weightlifting Meet in Chiefland. Weigh-in from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Meet at 4 p.m. (Van leaves at 12:30 p.m.)
Rescheduled Homecoming Parade. Lineup at 4 p.m. Parade at 4:30 p.m.
Homecoming Bonfire. 5 - 6:30 p.m.
Friday, 1/24:
Dress-up Day: School Spirit 💜💛
Homecoming Court Practice for All Participants.
High School Voting w/ Tammy Jones.
Pep Rally & 2nd Nine Weeks Awards. Gym. 1:30 p.m.
Home Basketball Games vs. Countryside. MSG at 4 p.m. MSB at 5 p.m. VG at 6 p.m. VB at 7:30 p.m.
Ceremony will begin immediately after the final buzzer of the VB game.
Homecoming Dance for 6th - 12th. Auditorium. Begins after the ceremony / Ends at 11:30 p.m.

CES Safety Patrol Color Run. 9 a.m.
CKS Alumni Basketball Game - Lady Sharks. Gym. 6 p.m.
