The Cedar Key Historic Preservation Board met on Tuesday March
18, 2025, at 10 am at City Hall. On the agenda was the construction
of a new Steamers Restaurant building to be located on First Street.
The agenda read: “Property owner, Dennis Gill, requested a
Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new multi-story
commercial building/restaurant within the historic district to be
located at 409 First Street.”

The Historic Board’s discussion made manifest that the proposed
construction would consist of: an open ground floor with details to be
decided later; a second floor restaurant; and a roofed, open third
floor with 42 inch high railings, the details of which would be
determined later.
