Obituary

Richard A. `Richie` Kolis, 39, passed away July 10, 2012 in Okaloosa County, FL from injuries sustained in a trucking accident.

He was born in Dunedin, FL on Nov. 5, 1972. Richie was a member of the Church of Christ in Cedar Key. He was a commercial truck driver for Performance Food Group in Gainesville. Prior to truck driving he was a certified boat mechanic. Richie enjoyed riding motorcycles, tinkering and building in his shop. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Kolis of Cedar Key; his mother, `Sam` (Robert) Parks-Bixby of Cedar Key; son, Daron Thomas Baxter of Oklahoma; brother Travis Ray Parks, Maui, HI; grandmother, Alexandria Johnson of Bronson, brothers-in-law, Cecil Edwin (Alicia) Alford, Jr of Chiefland; Ryan Peachman Alford of Cedar Key; his mother and father in law, Cecil & Carol Alford, Sr of Cedar Key and nephew, Emory Alford of Chiefland.


He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Kolis.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services with Pastor Daniel Carswell officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 13 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
