Obituary

Evelyn McCormick, age 90, died in Florida, Wednesday, July 25, 2012. She was born in Ivy Branch, Lincoln County, West Virginia on October 28, 1921 and was a lifelong resident of and homemaker in McCorkle, West Virginia and attended McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Delilah (Ron) Scott and son, J.D. (Pam) McCormick; brothers, Junior (Kat) Pauley and Pete (Nancy) Pauley; six grandchildren, Greta McHugh, Deah Calloway, Shara Bevin, Myron Scott, Shani Brinkman and Brandon McCormick; 16 great-grandchildren, Nathanael, Hannah, Levi and Raechel Brinkman; Cheyenne, Courtney, Cameron and Caera McCormick; Grace and Olivia McHugh; Jonathan Hutchinson; Bradley, Brandon and Braden Bevin; Evan and Peirson Scott; many nieces and nephews, church members, friends and her pastor, Todd Pope, from First Baptist Church in Cedar Key.

Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her husband, John D. McCormick; daughter, Brenda Joyce McCormick Hunter; parents, Van Buren and Lola (Dunlap) Pauley; sister, Juanita Huffman; and brother, Billy Pauley.

Visitation will be at McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church, Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 from 6- 7 p.m. followed by graveside service at 7:30 p.m., at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, in McCorkle.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, West Virginia. Local arrangements are under the care of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Chiefland and online condolences may be sent to hiers-baxley.com.
