Operation Clean Sweep

Operation Clean Sweep

Levy Co. Sheriff`s Office

On August 2, 2012 the Levy County Drug Task Force Deputies in cooperation with the Williston Police Dept. and the Chiefland Police Dept. made the streets of Levy County much safer. Officers and Deputies arrested 18 individuals on an assortment of 80 drug charges stemming from a lengthy investigation.

Operation Clean Sweep began in the early morning hours and within a short period of time, all the subjects were in custody. The residents of Levy County and the City of Williston can breathe a sigh of relief. Drug crimes impact everyone. There is an undeniable link between drug sales, use and abuse to every type of crime the Law Enforcement community as a whole has to investigate. From rape and murder to burglaries and robberies; narcotics always seem to have some role in the poor decisions some people make. These arrests are the culmination of the hard work and endless hours Levy County Law Enforcement spend on OUR WAR on drugs.
