Obituary

Herschell William Oder, 96, of Cedar Key passed away Aug 13, 2012 at Haven Hospice of the Tri Counties in Chiefland. He was born in Cedar Key to Gilff & Olla Oder in Feb. of 1916. Mr. Oder proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He worked in construction, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedar Key, a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed oystering, whittling and making toys and the city baseball team.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Margaret Oder of Cedar Key, daughters, Christine Shewey of Bronson, Deborah (William) Alford of Chiefland, sisters Mary Stewart of Chiefland, Wynell Golden of Raleigh, NC, grandchildren, Todd Shewey, Dane Shewey, Lynn Forney, William Alford, Jr. , great grandchildren Jarred Shewey, Michael Shewey, Lane Forney, Clay Forney, and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Sat. August 18, 2012, 11:00 AM at Cedar Key Cemetery.

In addition to flowers, donation may be made in Mr. Oders memory to Haven Hospice of the Tri County, 311 NE 9th St., Chiefland, DL 32626
