Levy County Libraries Soon to Offer FREE Downloads of Audiobooks and eBooks

Lisa Brasher

Best-selling and classic titles available anytime, anywhere - -

(Bronson, Florida) - October 1, 2012 - The Levy County Public Library System has expanded its services with audiobooks and eBooks available to download from the library`s website. Starting on October 1st, our library card holders will be able to check out and download them anytime, anywhere by visiting our new website at http://www.levylib.org.

Our users will then be able to browse the library`s website, check out titles with a valid library card, and then download to PC, Mac, and many mobile devices. Users will need to install free software in order to check out titles:

For audiobooks: OverDrive Media Console.

To read eBooks, users will need Adobe Digital Editions.

Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod, Sony Reader, and many others. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, so there won`t be any need to return the titles nor any late fees.

Library system director Lisa K. Brasher said that "Beginning October 1, 2012, Levy residents wanting free library downloads of eBooks and audiobooks will no longer have to go through the Alachua County libraries. Everyone can now get them free from their local Levy County public library. If you are not a library patron, it`s time to join us for free downloads."

This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for patrons with their library card. To get started downloading audiobooks and eBooks, visit http://www.levylib.org.

Levy County`s public library system has library branches in Bronson, Cedar Key, Chiefland, Williston and Yankeetown.
