Cedar Key Artist Wins Award

Cedar Key Artist Wins Award

Amy Gernhardt

Henry Gernhardt of Cedar Key won a Judges Selection award, for "Foggy Mountain, Tennessee" at the Winter Park Art Festival October 13th.


Henry taught at Syracuse University and was invited to teach and give lectures and workshops at several other universities and colleges during his 35 years at Syracuse.


He received national awards and a Fulbright Grant to Finland and Ford Foundation Grant to Japan, during his tenure. As an artist, Henry exhibited in forty-five one man shows, and over 100 group shows.

He is mentioned in several Art and Craft books and as well as Who`s Who in American Art. His studio and gallery are located on CR347 just past the Shell Mound Road.
