Letter to Editor - A Reply to - "Emperor with no Clothes"

Jim Hoy

To the Editor,

As an observer of national politics since the Roosevelt years, and a participant since 1956 when I voted for Ike Eisenhower, I recognize an "October surprise" in Buzz Healy`s letter published online in Cedar Key News. Both Buzz and I served on the Cedar Key News Board of Directors, a board that has been assiduously politically balanced.

The critical sentence in the Healy letter is: "My guess is that a decision was made at the highest level of government leadership that is was not practical to provide assistance to those in Benghazi for either political or military considerations."

The leap of judgment from what is clearly known to guessing that there was a "hoax" assumes the worst. It reminds me of partisan charges that President Roosevelt thwarted the defense of Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked, or that President George W. Bush knew that the 9/11 attack was known in advance.

Let`s stop guessing and think about this.
