CEDAR KEY SHARKS PARADE: A SUCCESS!

CEDAR KEY SHARKS PARADE: A SUCCESS!

By Mandy Offerle, Cedar Key

Over twenty vehicles and well over eighty participants made the Cedar Key School Homecoming Parade was a huge success. Screeching, blaring, barking sirens and horns came from students, faculty, business, private, and municipal vehicles. Participants rolled along the parade route in everything from a multi-colored plastic train pulled by a man towing three waving toddlers to huge, imposing, red fire trucks.

The later-to-be-named Homecoming king and queen and their court rode along followed by the Eleventh, Tenth, and Ninth Grade Representatives and led by the Kindergarten Representatives. They were followed by the Teacher of the Year, FFA, cheerleaders, the Lady Sharks, and the middle school girls and boys basketball teams.

Businesses rode in support of the students: Kayak Cedar Keys, Kona Joe`s, Cedar Key Bed and Breakfast, Dilly Dally Gallery, Harbor Master Suites, Fine Arts Festival, Pirates in Paradise, Tidewater Tours, Marina Hardware, and, of course, Cedar Key Police and Fire personnel.

Enjoy the pictures below taken by a charming visitor (Skip Prince from Middleburg, FL) to Cedar Key who graciously offered to e mail them to the Cedar Key News.
