The Cedar Key Pirates in Paradise, Cedar Key Chamber of Commerce, along with local civic and charitable organizations are in the planning stages of "The Cedar Key Pirate Invasion." The event scheduled for September 13-15, 2013 is a grassroots effort to stimulate our local business climate and provide an opportunity for the Cedar Key Pirates to help non-profit charitable and educational groups in Cedar Key. Currently, there are business and civic leaders working behind the scenes to invite Pirate groups from around the state to visit Cedar Key for this event.

On April 20th and 21st there will be a mini invasion of sorts. Several members of the Fernandina Pirate Club and The Krewe of the South Shore Marauders from Tampa have volunteered to come to Cedar Key to shoot promotional costumed photos with the Cedar Key Pirates. They will be ferried around Cedar Key to various locations. We will be taking photos of pirates eating at local restaurants, riding on a bird dog and an airboat. Some of the pirate models will be pillaging booty from local gift shops and taking in the Historical Society Museum. We`ll also take them on a trip to Atsena Otie to look for buried treasure. Pirates will be everywhere that weekend snapping away.

If your business or organization has not been contacted to participate in the Cedar Key Pirate Invasion or about the photo shoot it is not a slight by anyone. Our intended date to officially introduce the event is May 6th at the next Cedar Key Pirates in Paradise Sunset Celebration and Mexican Food Feast. The opportunity to get these generous folks to town together along with the photographers and boat captains just came about. If you would like your group or business to be showcased on the event website http://www.cedarkeypiratefest.com beginning in May with the pirate models contact us at 352-665-5623. We`ll arrange it and put you on the schedule. We will have more information about the September event coming soon.
