Second grade Trip to Lego Land

The Cedar Key School second grade class took a field trip to the adventurous world of Lego Land. It took the students a total of 4 hours to reach their destination: Winter Haven, Florida.

On the trip, the students learned how to be creative with Legos, especially after seeing all the Lego creations such as a dinosaur and a life size car. The students also received the opportunity to ride roller coasters, boat rides, and to see more Lego creations such as the Statue of Liberty and the New York City Empire State Building.

Senior Spotlight: Molly Gordon-Tysinger

This week`s senior spotlight is featuring Molly Gordon-Tysinger. Molly has attended Cedar Key School since Pre-K and will be graduating on June 1st along with the other 14 seniors in the Cedar Key gymnasium.

After graduation Molly plans on moving to Germany to live with her husband Matt and attend college there. Molly states "I`m ready to start the rest of my life. I`m going to miss everyone so much and especially this little town. Germany`s going to be very different, but I know that it`s going to be amazing."

When she`s not in school you can find Molly playing sports, walking her dog Kya, and hanging out with her friends. When asked what her most memorable moment at Cedar Key School has been Molly says: "I would have to say that our junior prom was one of my most memorable moments of my high school career."
When asked who were her favorite teacher was Molly said "I can`t choose. I love them so much and they`ve all done so many things for me throughout my life." When asked where she sees herself in 10 years Molly explains "I see myself being a successful EMT, and living wherever the military takes us."

The event of the year is coming too soon for the Cedar Key juniors and seniors. Preparations started last Saturday and will continue all week up until the day of the prom.

Eight o`clock sharp the students and their dates will start flowing into the decorated audition. "I`m most excited for the theme to be unveiled, they`ve done such a good job of getting everyone excited!" exclaimed senior, Mady Riley.



Students in the high school Ag class are finding new ways to improve their gardens. Laia Gore is plants Marigolds around the edges of one of the many gardens on campus to ward off harmful insects.
