CEDAR KEY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT: INPUT FROM RUN OFF CANDIDATES

CEDAR KEY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT: INPUT FROM RUN OFF CANDIDATES

by CKN Staff Reporter

In its continued interest of informing the public on substantive issues, the Cedar Key News has hosted forums when run-offs occur for seats on the Cedar Key City Council or on the Cedar Key Water and Sewer District Board. Due to the fact that only one seat is in contention this year, the News will not sponsor a forum; instead, it has formulated the following questions and posed them to both candidates running for the single vacant seat on the Cedar Key Water and Sewer District Board, Seth Colson and Teresa George.

1. Why do you feel you are qualified for a seat on the District`s board?
2. What do you see as major concerns for the District in the next several years?
3. Is there something you would like to accomplish while on the board?
4. How could you educate Cedar Keyans to be better water stewards?
5. If you had to cite three reasons for low water tables in North Florida, what would they be? Place the three in priority order.
6. How many Cedar Key Water and Sewer District Board meetings have you attended in the last year?
7. What specifically do you think you can contribute to the District`s board?

Please, look for Colson`s and George`s responses to these questions in the Cedar Key News on Monday, April 29, 2013. The News staff hopes their responses broadens and deepens your knowledge so they you may vote effectively on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at City Hall.
