Collect and bring your hazardous household wastes to the parking lot in front of the Cedar Key Fire Station on Thursday, May 30. Hazardous household wastes are leftover products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients. Oils, paints, cleaners, batteries, pesticides, name but a few. Others follow. - Automotive products: gasoline, motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid - Pesticides: insect repellent, weed killer, rat poison, flea collars, disinfectant - Cleaning products: furniture polish, ammonia, bleach, toilet bowl cleaner - Other products: pool chemicals, lighter fluid, prescription medicines, varnish, stain Improper disposal of these products will pollute our waters and our lands and will pose a threat to human and animal health.
