Cedar Key Food Bank Seeks Volunteers for Festival Booth

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Cedar Key Community Food Pantry will sponsor a booth at the Seafood Festival at the City Park on Saturday October 16. Cakes, cookies, candy and sweets of all kind as well as coffee and iced tea will be sold.

To make this project a success, volunteers are needed to donate baked goods. Volunteers are also needed to help while the booth is open. If you want to volunteer your time at the booth or your baked goods, please call Marty Healy 543-6727.

All the proceeds from this project will be used to provide food and supplies for the Food Pantry which is a community service that provides food at no cost for low income seniors and families who have a Cedar Key address. Over the past year, the present economic situation has caused an increase in the number of households using the food pantry. There is now a weekly average of 44 households benefiting from this service.
