Womans Club Fall Fair a Success

Womans Club Fall Fair a Success

Janet Hendrix

Bargains galore. Smiling faces. Beautiful weather. This was the scene Saturday at the Cedar Key Woman`s Clubhouse as shoppers came early to the Annual Fall Market and Yard Sale.

More than 20 vendors lined rows outside and inside the clubhouse on S.R. 24 to display their items. Local artists offered jewelry, glass and porcelain ornaments, notecards, painted visors, dog collars, decorative shells, lighthouses, stepping stones, stained glass, and more.

"Black Saturday" was a real success as browsers purchased gift items from local artists and others, including children`s books, plants and Christmas wreaths.

Used items were very popular as people strolled the grounds finding "treasures" at the Woman`s Club booth or on the tailgate of a vendor`s truck. Unsold items were delivered to Chiefland Hospice and L.A.R.C.

The Cedar Key Woman`s Club wish to thank all the participating vendors and those who came out on gameday to shop and enjoy the delicious food served inside. This annual event helps to provide funds for the many projects the club members support locally and in the National Federation of Women`s Clubs.
