ANNOUNCEMENT

LIVE OAK, FL, March 2, 2012 - The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) invites the public to a meeting on March 20 to offer input on a site plan for recreational opportunities on a 642-acre parcel in Cedar Key.

The District purchased the property, known as the Lukens Tract, to protect the marsh estuary system in the Cedar Key area of the Gulf of Mexico.

The District is taking comments on the site plan to open the property to the public for access. Current plans call for a canoe/kayak launch on the site, as well as support facilities to accompany the launch.

The meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m.at the Cedar Key Library, 460 2nd Street, Cedar Key.
