STATE PARK TO HOST EARTH DAY SCAVENGER HUNT

ANNOUNCEMENT

FANNING - The Florida Department of Environmental Protection`s Fanning and Manatee Springs state parks and Nature Coast State Trail will host a Scavenger hunt throughout the park for Earth Day.


Park Ranger Howard Meyer will read a book by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings called The Secret River before the hunt begins. The reading will take place on the stage located in the park from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from there the hunt will begin. There will be prize for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place participants and everyone will receive a certificate of participation.


Activities are free with a paid park admission of $6 per carload of up to eight people. For more information, please call the park at (352) 493-6072 or visit www.FloridaStateParks.org.
