Hunter safety Internet-completion course offered in Levy County

Karen Parker

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering a free hunter safety Internet-completion course in Levy County.

The class will be in Bronson on May 8 and 9 from 6-9 p.m. Students who have taken the online course and wish to complete this classroom portion must bring the online-completion report with them. Students must attend both classes to complete the requirement.

The location for this class will be given to those who register in advance by calling the regional office at 386-758-0525 or going to MyFWC.com/HunterSafety.

All firearms, ammunition and materials are provided free of charge. Students should bring a pen or pencil and paper. An adult must accompany children younger than 16 at all times.

People born on or after June 1, 1975, must complete the hunter safety course before purchasing a Florida hunting license. The FWC course satisfies hunter-safety training requirements for all other states and Canadian provinces.

Those interested in attending a course can register online and obtain information about future hunter safety classes at MyFWC.com/HunterSafety or by calling the FWC`s regional office in Lake City at 386-758-0525.
