Cedar Key Lions to Host a Candidates Forum

Cedar Key Lions to Host a Candidates Forum

Dale Register

The Cedar Key News and the Lions Club of Cedar Key have regularly held jointly sponsored Candidate Forums in advance of general elections. There are discussions underway regarding a forum in September after the August primaries have reduced the current large number of candidates to a more manageable number.

However there are 2 elections in August that (currently) will not lead
to another election in November. These 2 elections will ultimately be the deciding factor for both Supervisor of Elections and County Judge. In order to provide an opportunity for Cedar Key voters to meet and evaluate the four candidates for these 2 elections, the Lions are scheduling a Candidate Forum on May 22 at the Cedar Key Community Center at 7 PM.

The four candidates are Tammy Jones versus Brooke Ward for Supervisor of Elections and Judge James (Tim) Browning versus Cyndee Munkittrick for County Judge. Each candidate will be given 10 minutes to tell the audience why they should be elected and then questions from the public can be asked of all candidates. The Forum is open to all citizens and we hope to have a good turnout.
