Family Fun at Henry Beck Park

Family Fun at Henry Beck Park

Carol McQueen

If it is time outside, (with nature right next to a crystal clear, cool spring), you are wanting to enjoy; then Levy County`s Henry Beck Park is the place for you this HOT, humid summer. With the heat indexes climbing higher everyday it`s the perfect solution to beating summer weather. Come enjoy a lazy day floating down the Wekiva Spring run trailing your fingers through its refreshing waters and catch a glimpse of a woodpecker or admire towering cypress trees draped in Spanish moss. Swim and snorkel in the shallow waters to explore aquatic plants and fish as you allow the refreshing water to relax away the tensions of the day.

Henry Beck County Park is the perfect place to bring the entire family with picnic pavilions just right for that reunion or birthday party. Children and those young at heart will want to spend some time enjoying the children`s play station situated under a shady tree canopy. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch or grill up some hamburgers and hot dogs for that delicious lunch. Get up a team to play volleyball and basketball then go cool off in the spring waters to ready yourself for a challenging game of horseshoes with your friends.

Everything is just waiting for you to gather up your summer "beach bag" and head to the springs for a day of sunshine and fun, there`s nothing like it! If you haven`t visited Henry Beck County Park you have really missed one of Levy County`s hidden jewels. Located at 3770 SE County Road 343, Morriston and close to Goethe State Forest, right smack dab in nature`s pristine untouched wilderness. Call park attendants at (352) 486-5326 for more information or to reserve a pavilion and you can`t beat an entrance fee of only a dollar a day per person. So get going, what`s holding you back, come treat yourself and your family to beautiful Levy County`s Henry Beck Park, you will fall in love with this park and claim it as your favorite summertime spot.

Henry Beck Park is NOT Handicapped Accessible.
