Resilience and determination is KEY!

Resilience and determination is KEY!

Carol McQueen

As clouds full of rain and wind rolled away caused by Tropical Storm Debby and the sun reappeared on the coastal island of Cedar Key many are counting their blessings.

Tropical Storm Debby could have dealt the community a much harder blow than she did, but for the most part it was water damage from high tides and storm surge that caused destruction. It never ceases to amaze, (those of us who don`t choose to live on an island located out in the Gulf of Mexico), the resilience and determination the people of Cedar Key find in themselves during these type of tough times.

A Little Boy Net Fishing in Cedar Key

Dealing with Tropical Storm Debby`s aftermath was no different for Cedar Key`s community because as soon as the storm passed, everyone was working tirelessly together to restore the business district for visitors to return.

Now that the residents, businesses and city workers have completed their clean up it is very important to get the word out that Cedar Key is OPEN for business to return.

No amount of rain, storm surge and wind will hold this community back for being the quite, seaside fishing village so many have come to love and appreciate.
