Cedar Key Library Presents - Global warming and the Changing Oceans

ANNOUNCEMENT

Cedar Key Public Library will host a presentation by Captain Dan Kipnis on "Global Warming and the Changing Oceans" November 3 at 1:00 pm. He is the past president of the Miami Beach Rod and Reel club and member of the Climate Reality Project.


A Florida native and ardent fisheries conservationist, he will explain global warming and its effects on the oceans and near coastal environments. Captain Kipnis is chairman of the Economic, Social and Health Committee of the Miami-Dade County Climate Change Task Force. He has also served on the Biscayne Bay Management Committee, Miami River Review Committee, and City of Miami Waterfront Board. The captain was Commissioner of the State of Florida Marine Fisheries Commission.


Captain Kipnis has appeared on CBS and CNN to talk about the radical changes happening in oceans and the effect on marine life.
