SANTA CLAUS CAME TO TOWN COMPLETE WITH BIKES!

SANTA CLAUS CAME TO TOWN COMPLETE WITH BIKES!

Mandy Offerle

Continuing a tradition of at least five years, between 150 and 200 youngsters and their parents met Santa Claus at the Cedar Key Community Center at 6PM on December 3, 2012.

Everyone walked away with a full stomach and every youngster left with a Christmas gift. Hamburgers with all the fixings were served. Four fortunate winners from the event`s drawing took bicycles home.

Organized by the City of Cedar Key and under the direction of Police Chief Virgil Sandlin, Fire Chief Robert Robinson and their staffs, the effort was truly a community event.

Many Cedar Key businesses, individuals, and families graciously donated to this event; some gave decorations, dinner items, and others dollars. City records reflect total collections as $1,725.
