Cedar Key "Pirates" will Host Returning Troops

Cedar Key "Pirates" will Host Returning Troops

Bobby McCabe

The Cedar Key Community Center will be hopping as the Cedar Key Pirates in Paradise host a Wecome Home Warriors Holiday Homecoming Celebration on December 29th from 6 pm - 10 pm. The unashamedly independent and fun loving band of buccaneers have planned a family-friendly event to show their respect and admiration to our young servicemen and woman who have returned home for Christmas.

The local soldiers, sailors, marines, guardsmen, and airmen and their guests will be treated to dinner prepared by Ken`s Keyside Diner, and entertainment by DJ Solutions. Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Lannie Cardona will be the Master of Ceremonies for the event. Invitees are asked to be prompt. There will be time to re-acquaint and mingle from 6 to 6:30. Introductions and a short program from 6:30 to 7:00 followed by dinner and dancing.

So far there are 11 returning troops and their families who have responded to the Pirate`s invitation. If there are any other local active duty military personnel who will be home and that been missed by the plundering rogues, you are asked to contact Bobby or Janis McCabe at 352-543-5623.

Please mark your calendars for the next important Pirate event on February 16, 2013: The Cedar Key Pirates in Paradise` Treasure Hunters Booty Sale next to The Big Deck Raw Bar to support the Cedar Key Community Fund.
