Cedar Key Arts Center May Exhibition

"CKS Students Choose Their Best Art"

May 3 - 30
Opening Reception May 3 5 - 7 PM

On May 3, 2008, the opening reception for the exhibition of Cedar Key School students` art will be held at the Arts Center from 5 - 7 PM. Debby Manansala, the school`s first full-time art teacher, has asked each student to submit their best piece of art from the past year for this show. This array of creativity and talent will be on display at the Arts Center from May 3 through May 30.

Debby, a former art teacher in Bronson, says that she`s thankful that she is teaching in Cedar Key, that the job is a "dream come true" and she loves the community.
Debby has introduced art from other cultures to her students, as well as teaching many art mediums. Another focus of her program has been to introduce art history. Additionally, she has worked to build interest in art and to foster creativity in each student.
The work on display will encompass the creative endeavors of students from grades K through 12. The community is encouraged to support their school and its students by going to see this exhibition and attending the reception.
