Saturday, Nov 6, 5-7 pm: Old Florida Celebration of the Arts - Artwork Exhibit and Announcement of Winner. Everyone is welcome to come in and see this two week exhibit of all of the entries that were submitted for the 2011 Spring Arts Festival. The judges will announce the winner of this year`s competition at the reception. The selected artwork will be use for promotional activities, t-shirts, etc. Some of the artwork will be for sale. Refreshments will be served (457 2nd St, Upstairs).
Saturday, Nov 20, 5-7 pm: November/December Exhibit Opening: Valerie Bretl in the main gallery and "The Artists of Cedar Key" in the Member Artist Gallery. Come meet the artists and enjoy our first feature exhibit of the 2010/2011 season. This exhibit will run through the end of December (457 2nd St, Upstairs). NOTE: we will be accepting artwork for this exhibit up until Weds, Nov 17 at 5 pm. Contact Carol Sakellarios (543-5203) if you are interested in participating in the "Artists of Cedar Key Exhibit."
SUNDAY SALONS
Sunday, Nov 7th and 21st, 3-5 pm: Composition and Critique Salon Salons are met to be a low-key, casual time to get together and discuss art. Bring in a piece of your work or just come in and join the discussion. Composition and Critique Salons are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from November-April upstairs at the Arts Center. These sessions are free and open to the public.
NOVEMBER WORKSHOPS
Thurs, November 11 & 18, 5pm. Quilting with Beth Davis. Learn several different classic patterns as you create 4 quilt squares during the month of November. Contact Beth Davis (543-5568) if you were unable to join us at the organizational meeting October 28. (Note the November 4th date was rescheduled to the 18th to avoid conflict with the Cedar Key School Fall Festival.
Weds, November 17, 10-noon. Wreath Making Join Marci Wilcox from the Cedar Key Garden Club and learn to create festive garden wreaths. Call Marci Wilcox (543-5697) or Libby Cagel (543-5232) for more information or to sign up.
