Cedar Key Arts Center Opens Its Fall Season

Donna Bushnell

The Cedar Key Arts Center will open its Fall Season on Saturday, October 1st, from 5-7 p.m. Exhibits will be held in both upstairs galleries.
The Main Gallery will feature all the works of art submitted to Old Florida Celebration of the Arts Poster Design Competition. The winning OFCA design will be featured as the visual image on posters, t-shirts, and promotional materials for the 48th Annual Old Florida Celebration of the Arts to be held April 28-29, 2012. Many talented artists have contributed their ideas for the commemorative poster competition. Come to see a preview. (It`s not too late to contribute your work of art. Deadline is Sept. 30. Call 352-543-5400 for additional details.)
The Member Artist Gallery will feature the works of this season`s Cedar Key Art Center workshop presenters. You will see examples of their art and previews of what you might make if you sign up for a class at the Cedar Key Arts Center. Find out what Piquette Assiette or Raku or Monotype Printing looks like and decide if it is the art project for your next venture.
Gallery Openings are free for all members and open to the public as well.
Membership applications and workshop schedules will be available. Come join the talented and friendly Cedar Key Arts Center community.
