Arts Center Exhibit Continues Through March

Arts Center Exhibit Continues Through March

Maureen Landress

Webster's Dictionary lists the definition of the word "art" as "the activity of using imagination and skill to create beautiful things". That definition is evident in the works being shown at the Cedar Key Arts Center's National Juried Exhibition, now on display (through the end of March) at the gallery on 2nd Street (above the Keyhole).

From whimsical to enigmatic, the works on display offer something for everyone's taste. There is the endearing portrait of "Aunt Mabel" by Peg Cullen, the charming "Boy in a Pail" by Virginia Chen, and the thought provoking "For Now So I May Breathe" by Lisa Barden.

Three of our talented local artists have examples of their works in the exhibit:

Sandra Allen
"Turn of the Century"
A watercolor

Rebecca Gaines
"Red Door"
A watercolor

Bill Roberts
"Hungry Bend"
Oil on canvas

Take a moment to stop by the Gallery, great art is food for the soul, and the Arts Center Juried Exhibit is a sumptuous feast.
