Joe Slaughter and his sister, Renotia Hines, are the new owners of Cedar Key Boat Rentals and Island Tours. They occupy the former Island Hopper site on A Street at the East end of Dock Street.
They offer boats for rent by the hour include 3 Carolina Skiffs, a pontoon and a Polar boat. The new owners are offering eco-tours so passengers can explore the natural beauty of the islands and the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge. Highlights include visiting Atsena Otie Key, where the town of Cedar Key was first settled, as well as a viewing of the Lighthouse on Seahorse Key. Offering eco- tours for 6 persons.
The new owners are long time Cedar Key residents.
