Licensing Issue Arises

Licensing Issue Arises

Jim Hoy

Although not an agenda item for the June 21 meeting, the ninety day review of Building Department official Walter Brown`s performance was discussed by the commission. Two commissioners expressed a desire to interview Mr. Brown.

Commissioner Dennison said that he is particularly interested in Mr. Brown`s answers to questions regarding the issue of solar panel installations for the City and proper licensing of contractors. Other issues advanced at a previous Commission meeting include Mr. Brown`s availability for consultation at specified hours and his approval of a building permit that endangered FEMA flood insurance for the community.

A consensus was rapidly reached that one-on-one meetings between Mr. Brown and individual commissioners would be the method of inquiry.
