Farewell Maureen

Farewell Maureen

Editorial

Maureen Landress has been an integral part of Cedar Key News from its beginning. She volunteered to write book reviews and library news at the start. As a member of the Board of Directors, Maureen participated in the formative months of Cedar Key News as an online news source. Within three months she became Editor, began writing feature articles and doing interviews with artists, pen and camera in hand. As Editor, Maureen posted articles and designed online advertisements.

In May of 2004 Cedar Key News began biweekly publication as a print newspaper. Maureen learned the production side of print news and expanded her ad design skills. Five months later she took on the bookkeeping for Cedar Key News. If all of the above were not enough, Maureen helped keep the Managing Editor organized, as best as could be expected.

Maureen is leaving Cedar Key and Cedar Key News. We will miss her a great deal. We will miss her clear and cliché-free writing, and her ability to solve technical problems. And, most of all we will miss Maureen's calm in the face of hurricanes and her patient good nature.
